FAQ’s

  • A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to individuals and families during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Unlike a medical professional, a doula does not perform clinical tasks but instead focuses on creating a positive, supportive experience by offering guidance, encouragement, and comfort measures throughout the journey.

  • A midwife is a healthcare provider who is trained to manage prenatal care, labor, birth, and postpartum care, with a focus on the medical aspects of childbirth. A doula, on the other hand, does not provide medical care but focuses on non-medical support, including emotional reassurance, comfort techniques, and advocacy. Together, they can create a well-rounded support team for the birthing person.

  • No, a doula does not replace the role of a birth partner. Instead, a doula works alongside birth partners, helping them to feel more confident and involved. I offer guidance to partners so they can provide support more effectively, creating a team approach that enriches the birth experience.

  • Yes, doulas can be incredibly helpful during a C-section. I provide emotional support, help ease any concerns, and can assist with comfort measures before and after the procedure. Post-surgery, I can also support you with initial bonding, breastfeeding, or other needs during recovery.

  • Absolutely! My services are designed to be accessible to everyone, including those who have no experience with yoga or Reiki. I gently introduce these practices and tailor them to your comfort level, making sure they feel supportive and beneficial, regardless of your background.

  • In the rare event that I’m unable to attend your birth, I will arrange for a trusted backup doula to step in and provide the same level of compassionate care and support. My goal is to ensure that you feel fully supported throughout your experience, no matter what.

  • No, taking a childbirth class is not required to work with me. However, I do encourage education, as it can help you feel more informed and empowered. If you’re interested, I can recommend classes or resources that fit your needs, or we can explore topics during our sessions together.

  • Reiki is a gentle energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and supports emotional and physical well-being. In a Reiki session, I use light touch or hovering hands to help balance your body’s energy. A Reiki reading is an intuitive insight that may arise during a session, offering personal guidance or reflections that may be helpful for your journey.
